stop loss and buy stop orders

Hi,

would it be possible to implement a feature for "stop loss" and "buy stop" orders?

i.e. place an order to sell a specified number of shares if the price falls below a certain level, or to buy a specified number of shares if the price rises above a certain level?

Good idea, people will feel safer leaving there orders in the order book.

This is because if your bid is hit due to a news event, you can stop loss it so you don't lose out much.

This boosts liquidity.
Liquidity boosts accuracy.
Accuracy is good.

These have been talked about for years, but every time I sit down to really think in detail about how they would actually work in practice, I get a migraine! sad smiley

I suspect Admin feels the same way.

Yes: an email alerts system might be a useful alternative. A trading API means you could write your own. The latter should be rolled out in the next 2-3 months.
