There's a way to do this if you have about $100+ cash. Find a stock which is currently offering to buy 1000 at 0.0001, such as this one:

Offer to sell 1000 (or as many as possible) for 0.0001. Under Order Details, it will tell you how much you would pay in trading fees if the order were to go through. This is the amount you "owe" before you reach the $5 cap.
