Long Description

This contract pays $1 if Parliament passes legislation which in any way expands voting rights to more prisoners, making voting accessible to more people.

Judging Criteria 

The purpose of this contract is to forecast whether Parliament will expand voting rights to more prisoners in correctional facilities who are currently unable to vote at the time this contract is launched.

This contract identifies the 'expanding' of voting rights to mean that in the next general election the criteria for prisoner voting will be changed.

"More prisoners" refers to the change of a law insofar as to enable any type of prisoner who currently cannot vote under the current criteria, to be able to vote after the law change.

This contract will close upon the following actions:

-Two journalistic sources report on the successful passage of any bill which intended to expand voting rights.

Due to the complexity in defining what justifies 'expanding' voting rights, iPredict may also seek to postpone closing the contract until an independent review of any legislation is completed by a peer reviewed source. An independent review would likely be in the form of a constitutional law review, non-governmental organisation report, or political science review.
