I think Summers will go, just a matter of timing - as was the case with JG Brown.by TraderV - Active Stocks
I'm not against having a forum setup, but I can't see it doing much versus the order book. Twitter was a suggestion to try and increase the distribution of the pricing/liquidity info. It's obvious to me that stocks have greater liquidity when there are 70 users logged in as opposed to say 10 users. Even if you put a big order out there on the forum there may still be nobody around to act on iby TraderV - General

@2irons Makes sense - could use Twitter to flash the orders. Easy to see orders from mobiles that way.by TraderV - General
@libero When you consider how the purchasing power of fiat currency over time has decreased, you could argue that's all the Reserve Bank does - 'look through' the data.by TraderV - Active Stocks
TraderV, How would that work? What if I want to buy the stocks NOW? Firstly, I really don't see the point of a separate forum for bids and asks. If you want to make a trade wouldn't it be easier to place it on the order book - that's what it's for. My idea was for circumstances where someone either wants to take a large position - or not at all. Chances are if you put up an order of 20by TraderV - General
Could always use the CME Futures if there is some issue with GDT? There are a whole bunch of Dairy related commodities.by TraderV - New Stock Ideas
Could be a little tricky and use some technical levels? eg. p < 1060 1060 < p < 1230 p > 1230 Either way it probably doesn't matter too much, there's always debate about which levels are important. The chart tells the story.by TraderV - New Stock Ideas
Any interest in a dedicated Make An Offer forum? i.e. a place to post willingness to trade big orders? Perhaps a 'bookbuild' option on the order book where if someone wants [email protected], the whole order has to be subscribed to before it trades?by TraderV - General

Maybe have a couple of different levels, - central banks appear to think printing money is going to solve all problems, so there should be reasonable support for gold.by TraderV - New Stock Ideas
I agree these things are decided by politicking rather than anything to do with sport. I think the stock is likely to moved based on which politicians head over to lobby FIFA. Case in point - Helen "I'd rather go to an art gallery" Clark lobbying for the RWC 2011.by TraderV - New Stock Ideas

But we need to immediately launch the contracts on how long this arrangement will last. I propose: DUMMY.SPIT.0-3MNTHS DUMMY.SPIT.3-6MNTHS DUMMY.SPIT.6-9MNTHS DUMMY.SPIT.9-12MNTHS NO.IMMEDIATE.DUMMY.SPIT (12MNTHS+) or maybe better to launch when signs of rumblings hit the media ... Some sites are suggesting Labour+LibDems+Rabble could negotiate for a coalition rather than a Tory minority government, with an agreement that Gordon resigns at a point to be determined in the future. This would result in another unelected prime minister. Not that I think it's likely, but imagine that!by TraderV - Active Stocks

I think the lack of liquidity for the May contracts was mainly due to the short launch time frame. I think the June lot will fill up over time. Would be interested to see a comparison between RBA and RBNZ contract interest, given that there has been way more disagreement (at least among Economists) as to when the RBA would raise and when it will pause. OK, Now we absolutely have to run this stock! Edit - Good PR opportunity as well.by TraderV - New Stock Ideas
Maybe will keep an eye on it, I think it's going to need some huge liquidity to measure things accurately. Could turn into the mother of all arbitrage opportunities.by TraderV - Draft Stock Definitions
Presumably if a country decides to 'leave' the Eurozone it will have to (re)establish it's own currency and central bank so it can control monetary policy? Would a stated intention to do this by the Primeminister of the relevant country, and the head of the ECB be sufficient? Realistically a euro-zone 'exit' will take years to plan/implement, and there would be many possibilities inbetweenby TraderV - Draft Stock Definitions

I think we'd need to be careful with the definition, given there seems to be two parties: The SEC's complaint charges Goldman Sachs and Tourre with violations of Section 17(a) of the Securities Act of 1933, Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and Exchange Act Rule 10b-5 Is it possible that only GS gets charged? I assume this survey will determine whether iPredict is in fact an 'elite ghetto'? If this is so could we define criteria and run a stock on it? (joking)by TraderV - Announcements
Time to roll those May contracts, the media speculation has already begun in earnest. (This after 'economists' managed to think there was no chance of a rise in April, then deciding there would be, before agreeing it was 50:50, and then saying they knew there would be a rise all along.)by TraderV - New Stock Ideas
