It is a package of tax reforms – and that includes a rise in GST from 12.5 percent to 15 percent - that will, the government says, improve incentives to save, work and invest while keeping it fair for all. The rise is effective from October 1.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
And that the lot size changed at some point in the 17 minutes between those orders. an iPredict insider taking a punt on the last remaining 10 unit lots maybe :-)by sleemanj - Active Stocks
I note the easy API shows that preceeding the sell (of 50 or 60 units), there was a big buy of about 300 units by somebody.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
I think somebody knows something, but I'm not sure what! consistently this has traded about 90-95, a short time ago this stock plunged hard to under 60c, now it's up at 99. Could just be because it's down to 1 unit per lot, but still... that's a big drop, and rise.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
0.81 Anderton resigns 0.58 Parker wins Either people are not getting this duality, or people are quite sure that Anderton is going to announce his retirement this year no matter what. (Or of course, PARKER could be really overpriced I guess.)by sleemanj - Active Stocks
The chance of Anderton not standing as MP can not be less than the chance of Anderton winning as Mayor, it is some undetermined amount more, but it can not be less as he said if he wins then he will not be standing as I understand. So, in you saying that the Anderton not standing stock should be sold down to 16 to 21c, you are saying that the chance of Anderton winning mayor is less than this.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
Looks like the Parker market maker is working again. Quite interesting comparing PARKER win to the ANDERTON resign prices though. As was mentioned in the anderton thread, this is almost a bundle, if Parker loses, Anderton almost certainly has won and will announce his resignation Parker=0 Anderton=1, if Anderton doesn't announce his resignation then Parker has almost certainly won Parker=1 Anby sleemanj - Active Stocks
OK, I hadn't seen this one, NOW it can be closed I think. QuoteThe prime minister's office announced late on Tuesday there would be five Liberal Democrats in cabinet in total, including party leader Nick Clegg who will be deputy prime minister.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
Of course, if they are minority, and they FAIL that first confidence vote.... what happens then?by sleemanj - Active Stocks
@mc2001 The judging criteria states "a) form a Parliamentary majority with their own party or in agreement with another or b) form a minority government that passes a vote of confidence.". Conservatives don't have numbers to be a majority on their own. I have not seen an actual clear indication that there is going to be a coalition agreement. So either they will be minority inby sleemanj - Active Stocks
I don't think it's anything insiderish, looking at the Easy API trade history for 33-35, it's a few larger sized trades through the day has knocked it about a bit. 530 odd stocks kicked it off probably not involving the market marker much because it doesn't appear to have changed the price substantially couple of hours later, about 200 bought probably from the MM somebody turned around aby sleemanj - Active Stocks
If there was a prize for the most mental trading chart on iPredict, Parker would win by a country mile. iTeam maybe needs to take a look at this one. Also fixing the old links in the forum would be good. Simple search & replace in the database. Link above no go any more, link below is the one...by sleemanj - Active Stocks

If a party is making decisions which are unpopular with it's voters, then the voters will soon re-evaluate if it should support the party. Quote"A few months of parliamentary representation is not worth $600,000 of public money," he said. What it sounds like to me is, he's not going to say anything on if he will stand in the general election until after the local body elections, and that he won't be retiring BEFORE the next election whatever the result, but if he does win then he won't be standing in the general. Indeed, it's just an exhibit in showing how poor FPP really is as a voting system to represent the true people's choice. We could probably say the same about Labour or even the LIb Dems - Lib Dems got 23% of the vote... but just 8.8% of the seats according to Wikipedia, Labour and Conservatives were both very over represented in seats vs what they got in vote percentage. "A definitive announcement that a country will depart the European Monetary Zone which satisfies the above conditions will cause this contract to immediately close at $1." I'd read that, and the short description as being that the official announcement of the decision is sufficient to close the contract, doesn't matter if they change their mind later before or after implementation,by sleemanj - Active Stocks

It's not like he's standing behind a kiwibank counter cashing your cheques. I mean, really, what's he done this term. Can anybody name anything of substance? The odd whinge and pontification about this or that. More specifically, what's he done for Wigram this term, the only reason he is in parliament at all is to represent the interests of Wigram. Is there anything in "Others" that could potentially form a multi head coalition with Lab+LibDem, coalitions are pretty unheard of in the UK, but times are a changing.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
Looks like it's going to be hung to me, we are at 530 seats out of 650, and the conservatives are at 49.62% of the seats, it's certainly a long blind assumption to say that will persist in the remaining seats, but they would have to grab at least another 5 seats than the percentage they currently have. Conservatives will get a majority of the vote, but it's not going to be absolute. Minorityby sleemanj - Active Stocks

Sounds like there has been a bit of a shamozzle in the process, hundreds being turned away at various polling places because there wasn't time or staff to get them through, talks of legal challenges. This could get dragged out for ages, like the Gore/Bush election.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
Define extremely. It looks like the market maker isn't even selling below 20c, and isn't buying at all, highest buy at the moment is 1/10th of a cent, lowest sell is 15c.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
Whats up with the market maker on this. Seems it's quite willing to sell, but not buying anything any more.by sleemanj - Active Stocks
Interesting that he seems to have announced he's standing for Mayor, but no mention of not standing for Wigram. In fact the brief statement at Stuff sounded to me like he was standing for mayor, and if that didn't happen then he remains an MP. Stuffs article mentioned that if he got the mayoralty, it would mean a by-election in Wigram. Is there a restriction which means you can't be bother aby sleemanj - Active Stocks
