Election Day Trading Suspension
September 18, 2014 02:39PM
Following advice from the Electoral Commission, iPredict will suspend trading on all New Zealand political contracts between 11:59pm on Friday 19 September and 7pm on Saturday 20 September. During that period:

  • Trading on all contracts under NZ Election 2014, NZ Electorates 2014, NZ Vote Share 2014, and NZ Politics will be suspended.
  • The ability for traders to comment on the forum will be disabled.

At the suspension of trading on contracts, all contracts which can be closed on Election Day, such as the contract that asks whether Election Day will be on 20 September, and contracts for leaders to depart prior to Election Day, will close and pay out. Despite the suspension of these contracts, traders will be able to cancel any active orders they have on contracts while they are suspended.

Contracts not listed in NZ Election 2014, NZ Electorates 2014, NZ Vote Share 2014, and NZ Politics will remain open, although iPredict reserves the right to suspend trading on contracts in other categories which relate to this year’s New Zealand General Election.

iPredict will re-open trading on contracts from 7pm on Election Day.
