Https crossed out in red

When I log in https: is green showing a padlock.
But when I go to my portfolio and click on one of my stocks, the padlock gets a red cross on it and a red diagonal line through the HTTPS. I use XP pro and Google Chrome.
What's going on?

In Firefox, IE and Chrome all is well on my system although in Chrome, when I click on the forums link, all I get is the header at the top of the page.

My browser of choice is Firefox.

I often have the same problem as radian.

Using Google Chrome and Vista Home Premium.

If you click the red icon, it will tell you why:
"However, this page includes other resources which are not secure."

It's telling you that although the main page has been served over HTTPS, there are embedded things which are served over plain HTTP.

In the case of the stock page, it's the Flash-based chart which is served over plain HTTP and causing the padlock to turn red.

I am available to fix this for ipredict for a small fee.. winking smiley

Thanks for that. Clicking on the padlock explains it all.

BUT in Internet explorer 8, the https and padlock are not crossed out.
Maybe Microsoft sees the whole page as secure or they can't afford 'red crosses' anymore? smiling smiley

IE is not so fussy, but Chrome is the more correct.

If the Flash object had been displaying sensitive data, in IE you might have been fooled into thinking that data had been transmitted securely.
