Long Description
This contract will close at $1 if it is announced that 2016 was the hottest year on record globally by the World Meteorological Organisation, otherwise it will close at $0.
Judging Criteria
The purpose of this contract is to determine the likelihood that 2016 will be named the hottest year on record by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
The outcome of this contract will be based on official reports from the WMO website, as calculated using data from the NOAA, NASA and the CRU.
This contract only refers to the global climate as a whole, and does not take into account certain areas individually having their hottest years on record.
The announcement is expected in early February 2017 but iPredict reserves the right to hold this contract open for as long as it deems necessary. iPredict's decision is final.
This contract will be closed no later than 3 working days after the Close Date. The Close Date may be extended if the event outcome cannot be determined by that date.
